NEW CUTAWAY BACKING IS DESIGNED JUST FOR EMBROIDERY USE
Lehigh Valley, PA , May, 2001 Les Solomon, Inc. & Ace Binding Co. have just announced the availability of a unique new nonwoven designed specifically to be a cutaway embroidery backing. AllSTITCHTM, a 100 percent polyester product is especially appropriate for use with designs with high stitch counts on unstable fabric. It is very strong yet soft and competitively priced.
"This may well be the first time a nonwoven has been developed just for embroidery," said Les Solomon. "Embroiderers have traditionally had to rely on products developed for other sewing or industrial applications. It’s about time a product was developed to meet their unique needs, especially one that is so practical and durable.
"AllSTITCHTM is thinner than other cutaways, and it’s much stronger than backings of the same weight," he continued. "Over the past 25 years of manufacturing and selling nonwovens and other support products to the garment and embroidery markets, I’ve never seen anything like it. That’s why it has a name, not a number like other backings."
AllSTITCHTM has a woven scrim, or core, which gives it strength, and it is surrounded by a soft nonwoven fabric, which is essential for reducing skin irritation. It is manufactured in the U.S., and is available on 60" rolls, in shrink-wrapped precut pieces, or slit widths. It has passed all wash and shrink tests.
"AllSTITCHTM has enabled us to cut costs by reducing the amount of backing we have to use on heavier designs, and the quality of our work is greatly enhanced as well," said Becky Delory, Production Manager of Team Edition Apparel in Bradenton, Florida.
